A woman has been arrested after a car fire melted a section of of the A380 in South Devon this morning.
The woman, who is from the Broadclyst area, is in custody at Torquay Police station.
A police spokeswoman said: "A 50-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of taking a vehicle without consent, suspicion of drink driving and suspicion of driving while disqualified."
Police were called to the scene at Ashcombe Cross at 7:15am today.
A green Citroen Xara Picasso was on fire and blocking one lane of the Newton Abbot-bound carriageway just before the Kingsteignton turning.
Police and fire crews were at the scene and the road was resurfaced.
