Witheridge manager Chris Vinnicombe has praised his side's application after they came away with a 2-0 at Newquay despite having five first team players missing.
Both goals in the game were scored by Steve Ebdy, but Withy put in an excellent team display and were unfortunate not to come away from the match with a bigger margin of victory as Newquay shot stopper Tom Vercoe came to the home side's rescue.
"We had a few people pull out of the squad in the week, so only went down there with 12 players," said Vinnicombe.
"But the lads really applied themselves well. We could have been three or four goals up at half-time, which would have made it really comfortable for us.
"We only went in 1-0 up and it was just a case of keeping going and doing the right things which we had been doing all match and thankfully we came away with a 2-0 win."
Ebdy's second goal came early in the second half as he volleyed home from the edge of the area and his manager was pleased to see him hit a brace as he starts to find his form.
"He is slowly picking up and getting back on the goal trail, said Vinnicombe.
"He is getting better and better and he will soon be banging the goal week in, week out like he is starting to do."
Speaking about the trip to Falmouth Town next weekend, Vinnicombe said he didn't expect to have the same selection issues as it wasn't really the travelling that was putting players off.
Falmouth are currently struggling at the wrong end of the table and with Cullompton Rangers to face the after that it represents a couple of games where Withy will be targeting a healthy points return.
"It is not really a travelling issue, it is just that people are away all at the same time," he said.
"You are going to get some players away in your team, but you don't expect five are going to be away at once.
"It was a credit to the lads that played on Saturday that they dealt with it."
