DEVON could be dreaming of a white Christmas as possible snow is forecast to hit the region tomorrow.
The Met Office has issued severe weather warnings of ice and rain for tomorrow afternoon, which could lead to a dusting of snow across the region - particularly on higher ground.
A chief forecaster at the Met Office said a band of rain is expected to cross parts of the South West later today which could lead to a risk of ice on untreated surfaces.
The forecaster said: "There is some uncertainty over the timing and intensity of this band of rain, but where any heavy bursts occur, rain may quickly turn to snow.
"At low levels, several centimetres of wet snow is possible.
"Hail may also affect some areas, leading to slippery surfaces, before clearing skies allow temperatures to fall and increase the risk of ice on Thursday night."
The severe weather warning of rain is in place from 3pm on Friday until 3pm Saturday. The ice weather warning is in place from 3pm on Friday until 10am on Saturday.
Drivers are being told to take care as the rain and snow is expected to lead to icy driving conditions over the coming days.
