Emergency services say they are gearing up to respond to yet another blast of atrocious weather which is predicted to make landfall in the Westcountry this weekend. The latest forecast from the Met Office and the Environment Agency is predicting strong winds and heavy rain moving into Cornwall on Friday evening which will then affect the whole area during Saturday and Sunday. A flood alert has been issued for the River Exe, between Tiverton and Stoke Canon. Sandbags will be issued for Exeter Quay. An Exeter City Council spokesman said: "We are expecting some flooding at the Quay and the road will be sandbagged to prevent damage from vehicle wash. There are already 250 sandbags in place at Kings Wharf and we have more to deploy if needed." The flood alert covers from today and into tomorrow with widespread rain is expected throughout Devon today and into tomorrow morning. The Environment Agency says that all areas are already wet and rivers are expected to react as a result of this rainfall. Flooding is possible this evening and overnight. It is predicted that between 10-20 mm of rain could fall within a six to eight hour period on Friday night and Saturday morning, which could lead to localised flooding. However, this will also be accompanied by strong winds, which could reach gusts of between 50 and 65 mph in coastal areas creating more towering waves. Saturday will be another terrible day, say forecasters, with more rain and winds possibly gusting at 75-80 mph. Forecasters say Sunday will be quieter, although still wet and Monday will be benign before further wet and windy weather hits the Westcountry. In the meantime the clear up after yesterday's storm is still under way. Haldon Forest Park on the edge of Exeter will be closed on Saturday and Sunday due to the severe weather forecast. Toby Bowen Scott, Haldon Forest Park Manager said: "Like the rest of the region, Haldon Forest Park has taken a battering over the last few weeks. Our car park is open today but there are diversions or closures on all the trails following the strong winds and rain earlier in the week. However due to more gales and stormy weather being forecast for the weekend we will close completely on Saturday and Sunday. We will assess the situation again on Monday morning and will work hard reopen the site as soon as its safe to do so. Councillor Stuart Hughes, Devon County Council's Cabinet Member for Highway Management and Flood Prevention, said: "Conditions this weekend are set to deteriorate again, so there is potential for more surface water, flooding and trees down. Our teams are on standby to respond to issues on our road network, but if the damage is on the scale that we sustained earlier this week, there may well be more disruption. I would urge everyone to be aware of the possibility of further flooding and storm damage. We would advise people to remember not to attempt to drive through floodwater or closed roads and to keep away from exposed coasts in stormy conditions." A number of locations on the coast path are closed including the section between Ladram Bay and Otterton Sewage Works, Hope Cove in the South Hams is still shut after sustaining storm damage earlier in the week, and the Undercliffs section between Axmouth and Lyme Regis remains closed. Sign-posted alternative routes are in place where possible. The coast path between Budleigh Salterton and Exmouth has been affected by slumping, and a number of paths to beaches have also been affected including Bucks Mills, Woolfardisworthy and Rockham Bay, Mortehoe. The A379 at Labrador Bends, Shaldon, has re-opened today after a private landowner felled around 30 trees which were described as "critically dangerous" and were at risk of falling.Video: River Exe flooding 06/02/2014Live flood alerts:
