Teignmouth aim to bounce back to winning ways at Bude

Teignmouth head coach Simon Morrell is hoping to get the promotion push back on track this Saturday when Bude visit Bitton Park. The Teigns were top of the table before losing 25-24 at Kingsbridge last Saturday in controversial circumstances. Referee Paddy Dummett made two big calls against Teignmouth in the last five minutes to rule out a conversion when the touch judges could not agree and to wipe off a Teignmouth try for a foot in touch. Defeat dropped the Teigns down to third in the table, with Ivybridge and Burnham-on-Sea going past them. Morrell felt Teignmouth were unlucky to lose the way they did, but it is how they react that is important now. "They were two big calls by the referee and could cost us the league title," said Morrell. "It is going to make it hard for us to win the league having lost at Kingsbridge, which leaves the play-offs between us and two or three others." Chris Tidman, Will Sowden, Henry Raby and Pete Parsons scored tries, with Joe Simmonds converting two of them. Okehampton coach Brett Luxton wants an 80-minute performance away to leaders Ivybridge this Saturday after a 34-37 loss against Burnham. Tom Powell and Rob Fishley were the Okehampton try scorers, with Jordan Petherbridge converting both tries and kicking a penalty.
