A former assistant town clerk in Tiverton has lost her employment tribunal case against her former employer.
Jill Larcombe worked for Tiverton Town Council for nearly eight years until she resigned at the end of 2012 claiming members of the council, including a former mayor, had bullied her.
Following a four day hearing held in Exeter, the tribunal panel found in favour of the town council and dismissed the case.
The tribunal judgement said that former town mayor Cllr NeaL Davey had been "scandalised" by the way Mrs Larcombe had disagreed with him at various times, but on the balance of probabilities it was judged that Cllr Davey was not the one who had been overheard outside a public meeting remarking to the effect that the assistant town clerk should lose her job.
The tribunal also judged that the mayor at the time of the most serious disagreement (2012-13) Cllr Tom Lindus had done "all that he could" in relation to the claims of Mrs Larcombe, including offering to provide mediation.
Mrs Larcombe said she had not been surprised by the outcome but was pleased the issues surrounding the case had been aired.
