THE banking details of hundreds of Exeter people could have been stolen and published online.
The personal details and banking information of employees of Morrison Supermarkets, which has one branch in Exeter, have been published on the internet.
The company was informed on the breach on Thursday.
A spokesman said: "Initial investigations suggest that this theft was not the result of an external penetration of our systems.
"We can confirm there has been no loss of customer data and no colleague will be left financially disadvantaged."
Morrisons is working with police to identify the source of the theft and is reviewing its data security measures.
