First Great Western has warned rail passengers not to travel to the South West of England due to problems on the track caused by heavy rainfall.

First Great Western released the following statement:
Flooding is causing disruption to some routes in the south west of England.

Poor road conditions mean that buses are not able to run on many routes. Where buses are running, there will be a limited service and these buses may be delayed. First Great Western advise passengers not to attempt travel.
The following changes will apply until further notice:
Plymouth - Exeter - Taunton
No trains will run between Plymouth and Tiverton Parkway / Taunton
A limited bus service will run between Plymouth and Tiverton Parkway / Taunton but this is expected to be very busy
A limited CrossCountry service is also running between Penzance and Plymouth. Passengers are advised to use First Great Western trains
Journey times may be extended by up to 3 hours
First Great Western and CrossCountry are accepting each others passengers
First Great Western passengers may use South West Trains services between Exeter and London Waterloo
Par - Newquay
There are currently no trains between Par and Newquay. There is no replacement road transport available because of poor road conditions.
Exeter St Davids - Barnstaple
No trains are running. Road transport is not available because of flooding on local roads.
Liskeard - Looe
