The continued flooding after heavy rains once again battered the South West has made Devon County Council open a rest centre at its principal civic building, County Hall, Exeter.
The centre is to house people from eighteen properties at risk of flooding. These include Eagle Cottages behind the Mill on the Exe, and some on Mill Lane and Mill Yard and Countess Weir. The properties are at risk because they are not protected by the flood defences.

They are, however, not being told they have to leave.
The Environment Agency has downgraded all Severe Flood Warnings in the area to Flood Warning level.
