Police have confirmed that a 59-year-old man died after being involved in a collision with a lorry on Christmas Eve.
He was driving a silver Ford Focus at approximately 11.20am on the A30 near Rawridge travelling towards Honiton when he collided with the heavy goods vehicle being driven by a 50-year-old man who was driving in the opposite direction.
A police spokesman said that the man, who lives with his family close to the crash site, died instantly at the scene.
He has yet to be formally identified but this could be done today.
The lorry driver suffered minor injuries.
The road remained closed in both directions for nearly 12 hours for investigations to be carried out.
