Exeter is invited to learn about and taste what nature has to offer next month in a spring foraging course in the city.
Wildfood UK have organised a spring foraging course in Exeter in May teaching the public to identify a selection of Spring shoots and edible plants and flowers.
The course in Exeter will be approximately a three hour walk taking in Riverside Valley Park and surrounds.
The group will meet in the garden of the Double Locks Hotel at 12pm on 10th and 11th May.
The course starts with a 20 minute introduction on what to look for and a brief of the general countryside codes where they relate to foragers.
After a 2 to 3 hour walk around the woods we will go back to the Double Locks to discuss and taste the finds.
A representative of wildfooduk.com said: "On our walks we will be teaching people about the tasty spring plants and fungi that grow in the area and what to avoid. People get to taste lots of different things on the walks and we also provide wild food based snacks and lunch."
Tickets are £30 and for under 16 £15. For more information visit http://www.wildfooduk.com/foraging-trips/exeter-spring-foraging-course/.
