A car fire on the A30 caused traffic delays near Exeter this evening,
Fire crews were called to the A30 between Alphington junction and Fignle Glen at 17:22 today.
Fire appliances from Danes Castle and Middlemoor were mobilised following numerous calls from members of the public, and the owner, reporting a classic car that had caught fire in a layby.
Crews extinguished the fire, which started accidentally, using breathing apparatus and a hose reel jet.
Duty of care was left with the owner and Police, who were carrying out traffic duties.
