Three Exeter Chiefs players were part of England squad that won their third consecutive European Under-18 Championships on Saturday. Jack Maunder, Kai Little and Jack Stanley were all part of the team that successfully beat Ireland 30-14 in Wronki, Poland to retain the trophy. Hartpury College pupil Little started the game on the left wing, while Blundell's School student Maunder began at scrum-half. Stanley came on as a 55-minute replacement for tighthead prop Josh Ibuanokpe and helped England to a dominate second-half display, which ultimately won them the match. Two tries from Taylor Prell and one apiece from Lucas Slowik and Josh Bainbridge set England on the road to victory, while Harry Mallinder added 10 points with the boot. Head coach Fletcher, said: "We're pleased to get the win, and to be honest I did think that we were the better side, particularly in the second half. "But huge credit to Ireland, they're a very good side and made it extremely difficult. "In terms of our performance, I think that we were much better in the second half. "It's a credit to our lads – they're a tight knit group and it bodes well for the future."
