Our pick of the transfer rumours from across the papers this morning
1) Arsenal's defender Thomas Vermaelen looks likely to be on his way to Barca for £10m. Various papers report the deal will be done soon after it emerged Arsenal won't sell the Belgium to rivals Man U. The Spanish giants are keen to strengthen their defensive ahead of the new La Liga season and Vermaelen looks set for the role. The Mirror report that Barca have won the race for the 28-year-old's signature because Arsenal do not want to help strengthen one of their domestic rivals by agreeing to sell the player to United.
2) Mario Balotelli to Liverpool? Balotelli's return to the Premiership looks imminent after it was revealed Liverpool are leading the race for his signature. Manager Brendan Roders revealed Liverpool are interested in signing the AC Milan striker and Arsenal target. Following the collapse of any Remy deal Liverpool are now looking towards The former Man City star to fill Suarez's boots. "Balotelli has all the qualities [I like]," Rodgers said. "He's 6'3", he's quick, his touch is terrific, he can score goals and he's still so young. I saw that in this time at Inter as a young player and obviously going to Manchester City when we had a real close eye on him there. He's a big talent." The Express report Milan are willing to accept £14million for Balotelli.
3) Naughton to Swansea? The South Wales Evening Post are suggesting that Swansea boss Garry Monk has admitted the Swans are tracking Tottenham's Kyle Naughton but insists they have made no firm approach for the player yet. Swansea have been linked to Naughton as Monk seeks full-back reinforcements following the departure of Ben Davies.
