Devon and Cornwall police, including the dog unit and helicopter, were called out near Exeter in the early hours of this morning to search for the driver of an overturned car.
Emergency services were originally called to the scene of a Vauxhall Corsa on its roof and facing the wrong way on the Exeter bound carriage way in Clyst St George at 1:15am this morning.
The road was closed just after Redlands Garage.
On arrival police found that no one was in the car and called the helicopter out to help in their search.
The area was searched for the driver and casualty but no one has been found as of this morning.
The road was opened at 2:25am.
Police have said they are making enquiries about the incident and the owner of the car has been traced.
