The Met Office has warned the public to be prepared for snow in the South West today.
The amber warning has been issued for this afternoon to last until tomorrow morning at around 9am.
Where rain or sleet is currently falling it is expected to turn increasingly to snow during this afternoon and evening, even at low levels, according to the Met Office.
2cm to 5 cm of snow is likely in places, with 10 cm or more in some areas.
Devon & Cornwall Police have advised drivers to take care during the evening rush hour.
