A police helicopter search led to the arrest of three men suspected of burgling an Ottery St Mary shop.
A witness alerted police to the incident at around 1.45am on Sunday, February 3, after the alarm went off.
The helicopter, which was already airborne at the time, was redirected and located a car driving towards Honiton. Officers on the ground were alerted and subsequently stopped the car at Wilmington.
Three men were arrested on suspicion of burglary and hundreds of pounds that had been stolen from the premises, were seized.
Detective Sergeant Alan Simons, said: "We are grateful to the witness for phoning us and we would urge people to do the same if they witness anything suspicious. "The successful outcome of the incident proves how valuable the helicopter is."
