Crowds turned out in force to enjoy the sounds and sights of a bumper dance procession - one of the highlights of Sidmouth FolkWeek. Organisers reported a great start to the 60th FolkWeek at Sidmouth - with a sell-out Ralph McTell concert, and full venues for the first day of concerts, roots parties and ceilidhs on Friday. The first colourful dance procession set off from the Esplanade to Blackmore Gardens on Saturday afternoon. In addition to the main concert events with Cara Dillon and Chris Wood & Andy Cutting, and the roots party at The Bulverton with Ross Ainslie & Jarlath Henderson, the weekend's other attractions included the ten-strong youth talents South Mainland Young Fiddlers. Also among those entertaining visitors to the festival were the Shetland Fiddlers, a group aged between 12 and 16. The 60th anniversary of the FolkWeek will be celebrated with a big dance display at Connaught Gardens starting at 2.15pm on Monday, August 4.
