Just after 9am today, fire appliances from Dawlish, Teignmouth and Torquay were called to a report of a roof on fire in East Cliff Close in Dawlish.
Upon arrival the incident commander requested a further two fire appliances as the roof well alight. Two appliances were sent from Teignmouth and Torquay together with an Incident Command Unit from Totnes and an aerial ladder platform from Torquay.
Three casualties were treated for smoke inhalation by ambulance personnel one of which was taken to hospital for burns treatment.
At 1pm the incident had now been scaled down to one fire appliance.
