THE LETTINGS market in Exeter and the surrounding area will continue to "grow and prosper" throughout the year, say Leamans Letting Agents.
People who have to be flexible and mobile within the careers market will keep driving the market forward with their needs to move to a new location at short notice, say the Exeter-based agents.
"Under such circumstances, having a home to sell when changing location for a job move means that the rentals market is the obvious and only place to turn to rather than looking to be an owner or occupier," said Ken Courage, director at Leamans.
The healthy prospects for the rental market are also down to the "ample, major employers" in and around the area. Mr Courage said: "Luckily the economy for Exeter is well-supported by the ample major employers in the area who attract high-quality personnel, many of who will be looking for decent property in which to make a home.
"Add to this the employment-generating land at the Science and Sky Parks near the airport will soon be attracting more established and forward-looking businesses, who will be likely to be bringing workforces with them as well as opening new career opportunities. All this will enhance the demand for decent housing."
